Kristen Sarkarati (née North), Principal of True North Communications, is a strategic fundraising and communications professional with over two decades of experience driving results for mission-driven organizations. With expertise in both development and marketing, Kristen specializes in building strategies that elevate brand visibility, deepen donor engagement, and fuel organizational growth.

Kristen's skill set spans the full spectrum of fundraising communications, including campaign messaging, donor appeals, major gift proposals, stewardship materials, and impact reporting. She excels at transforming complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives that resonate with donors.

Kristen is also an experienced project manager, adept at leading cross-functional teams to produce everything from annual reports and newsletters to digital campaigns and high-profile events. She brings a strong sense of brand alignment to every engagement, ensuring that communications are not only effective but also authentic and mission-driven. Kristen partners with award-winning video producers, photographers, graphic and web designers to deliver impactful communications for her clients.

Kristen has deep experience in the nonprofit sector. She has worked as a consultant for the Boston Foundation, Joslin Diabetes Center, Sportsmen's Tennis and Enrichment Center, Riverview School, and Friends Academy, among others. Before founding True North Communications, Kristen served as Director of Marketing and Communications at the SouthCoast Community Foundation, and previously as Director of Campaign Initiatives and Major Gifts at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth.
